BAGASPATI (From the Soul of the Sun)
Choreographer’s note:
The idea of Bagaspati ( a Javanese word of “the sun) comes from my daily encounter with the sun. In my hometown, the sun rises every morning to make the day for us. With its lovely red radiance, the sun rises in the east to give life to all creatures. When we are tired after the whole day work and need to enjoy the night, the sun creeps behind the moon. The sun is the soul of life. Green leaves proudly greet the world, cocks crow in the morning; sweet rain drops from heaven… and for certain, the sun has given us pause for reflection and valuable lessons on the meaning of honesty, intensity, persistence, without knowing or having any pretensions about when it must be stopped.

SURAT SINTA (Sinta’s Letter)
Choreographer’s note:
The idea of Surat Shinta was based on the great story of Ramayana by Walmiki.
The process of choreography, however, did not merely transfer nor imitate the scenes within the original story. The point was how I tried to present the symbolic language, ie the character of Walmiki as the author of Ramayana.
In this way, I want to show the fact that at the certain point, there is always a space between a creator and a creation
